In the Orient, mineral lava clay (Latin lavare = to wash) is also known as ghassoul or washing clay. It has been an integral part of beauty and skincare routines for thousands of years and is suitable for detox cleansing. It has a naturally high silica content, which helps to firm the skin. It also contains iodine, magnesium, iron and calcium. 

Use as a facial cleanser: Very easy to mix: put 1 teaspoon in your hand and mix continuously with a little water to form a thin paste. Gently spread the paste over the face in a thin layer. Avoid the eye area and leave on briefly. Remove with warm water or a damp cloth.

Use as a face mask: Place 2 teaspoons of powder in your hand or in a bowl and steadily add water until a creamy paste is formed. Apply the paste to the forehead, face, neck and décolleté. Avoid the eye area. Leave the mask on for 5 minutes and allow to dry. Remove with warm water or a damp cloth.

For dry skin, the mask can also be enriched with a facial oil.
